I am engulfed in the gusts of summer breeze
They come to me greeting all my leaves

Some of them seem to linger in the air,
As if they're unsure who’s even there

But just as soon as I say hello…
They depart

Their grand currents surround me
But to them, I’m no more than just another tree

I impede their various journeys to far-off destinations
They keep on moving, lacking the slightest bit of patience

I’ve been here for decades yet they flee in seconds
They loathe my presence

I beg for them to stay and be my company…
They only blow harder

If only they would hear me…
They’re busy

In the field I’ve always known,
Through dusk and dawn, I grow alone

The winds continue past my limbs and leaves,
On and on blows the autumn breeze
